Israel and the Jewish People – Still God’s Chosen??

While it is foundational within the belief system of most Christians today, the question of whether Israel and the Jewish people are still God’s chosen is a complex one.

Here, I show the surprising truth that Jesus and the apostles revealed to us in Scripture. Check out this video now!

I am a Christian teacher, author, and lecturer. Most importantly, I am a truth-seeker. My research has led me to both believe in and defend the veracity of the Bible, evaluating my own personal views in light of its teachings along the way. In addition to my blogs, I have written several books: "The Death Myth," "God Made the Aliens," "Spiritual Things," and most recently, "Missing Verses: 15 Beliefs the Bible Doesn't Teach." My hope in these endeavors is to give skeptics reasons to believe, to strengthen the faith of those who already do, and to challenge each of us to truly evaluate our own worldviews.

  1. A while back I shared my “Two Israels, Two Jews” view. From that perspective, yes, Israel is God’s chosen nation and Jews are God’s chosen people.

Ah, but we must be perfectly clear of which Israel and Jew we’re speaking of!

As per my view, which is based on the New Testament, the born-again Christian is a “Jew” – God’s Jew, belonging to the Church – God’s church – which I equate to the NT “nation of Israel”, and is better called “Christ’s family” or the “Fellowship of Christ”.

Expanding, the NT reveals the NEW covenant of God, one that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries that previously separated Jews from non-Jews. ALL peoples, regardless of origin, upon willfully becoming “one” with Christ (in the NT sense), becomes a member of the Christian family. That Christian family is the new Israel – God’s “Israel” in the NT.

Thus, a person becomes a “Jew” (the NT “Jew”) belonging to “Israel” – the family/nation of “Jews”. This NT “spiritual Jew” does not (cannot!) believe about Jesus Christ as does the earthly (not of God) Jew.

Earthly (not of God) Jews are mostly (not exclusively) composed of Zionists. Long story there – I’ll stop here.
